I Don't Want to Depend on Someone?!
In tired times, if we come across some people unknowingly it can give us some positive energy feelings. Even stranger can bring some great feeling and happiness inside us.
I came across such a person in our hospital. She was in her 63's but young in energy and self- esteem. She greeted us in the traditional Indian way " Namaskaram doctor garu"
We often feel energized if we come across such great personalities. I required her" AMMA, what help can I do for you?'. She said, "I want to control my blood sugar in a better way and for that i need your help doctor garu'. She was worried whether she would need insulin? if yes, then how to take it? she does not want to depend on pracitioner or some other family member for her injection.
After reviewing her medical history and ongoing treatment i felt she was right. She was on a full dose of tablets and she needed insulin.
I explained in a simple way. I said, ' AMMA, taking insulin is a child's play and you need not worry. Once you learn, you can be independent for taking insulin as you wished. She agreed, and observed each step of the injection technique enthusiastically. I even made her take the first shot of insulin.
After completion of the injection, she exclaimed said with a bigger voice like "that's simple it is". She was very happy learning to be independent further. Within a few days, her blood sugars normalized
and surgery was successful. On the follow-up her sugars remained controlled and was doing well!
" I don't want to trouble others and at the same time I want to be on my own"
